KIA has updated its Rio, but unlike most mid-life improvements, this one has very little to do with changing the looks or redesigning the interior.

Instead, the Rio has undergone a mild facelift, with a narrower grille matched to a wider, lower front bumper and new fog lamp surrounds. Similarly, the interior has had limited updates, with the 7-inch infotainment touchscreen being replaced by an 8-inch unit, which is now a standard feature across the range. The Rio has also had an extra 12V power socket added to the standard kit.

The engine lineup remains the same, with the choice of 1.25 or 1.4 petrol motors with manual or auto gearboxes. The 73kW / 135Nm 1.4 motor is now available on the lower LS spec, which now also includes 15-inch alloy wheels.
